PRODUCT OVERVIEW
17813627 Compressor
Details
The Avantco 17813627 compressor is an OEM replacement part for select Avantco commercial refrigeration units including reach-in coolers, freezers, and undercounter refrigerators. This compressor is the core mechanical component of the refrigeration system, compressing refrigerant gas to create the pressure necessary for the refrigeration cycle to operate effectively. The compressor pumps refrigerant through the system continuously to maintain food-safe storage temperatures.
Compressor failures occur from extended operation under heavy loads, contamination of the refrigerant system with moisture or acid causing internal corrosion, depletion of lubricating oil from refrigerant leaks, mechanical wear of internal parts from years of operation, or motor winding failures. Symptoms of compressor failure include inability to achieve proper cabinet temperature, continuous operation without cycling, unusual grinding or rattling sounds, warm discharge lines, or complete failure to start. Without a functioning compressor, the refrigeration system cannot operate, leading to complete loss of cooling and rapid spoilage of stored products.
Professional installation of the Avantco 17813627 compressor requires a certified refrigeration technician with EPA certification. The technician will safely recover all remaining refrigerant, disconnect the electrical power and refrigerant lines, remove the failed compressor from its mounting location, install the replacement compressor with proper vibration isolation, reconnect all electrical and refrigerant connections, perform a complete system evacuation, and recharge with the correct refrigerant specification. The system must be tested for proper operation and pressures. Preventive maintenance should include quarterly pressure monitoring and annual professional service inspections.
