The Avantco 17819014 Light Bulb and Cover is an OEM replacement component for Avantco reach-in coolers, freezers, glass door display cases, and other refrigeration equipment. This assembly includes both the bulb and its protective clear or translucent cover, which together provide interior lighting for the refrigeration cabinet while protecting the bulb from moisture and damage. The bulb must produce adequate light for viewing products and the cover must remain transparent to avoid darkening the interior.
Light bulb and cover assemblies require replacement when the bulb burns out, the cover becomes cracked or clouded with condensation that reduces light transmission, or the cover mount becomes loose. A burned-out bulb leaves the cabinet interior dark, making it difficult for customers or staff to see products. A clouded cover reduces light transmission and also indicates moisture is entering the fixture, which can cause electrical hazards or further damage.
Installation of the 17819014 requires the refrigeration unit to be powered down. The old bulb and cover assembly are carefully removed from the light fixture. If the cover is removable, the old bulb is removed from the socket and the new bulb installed. The cover is then remounted or secured. If the assembly is a single unit, the entire fixture is replaced. Standard hand tools may be required for cover removal. After installation, power the equipment back on to verify the light operates.
