PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Anode for Cleveland Part# 04080

Details
The Anode (Part# 04080) is a Cleveland-compatible replacement sacrificial anode for use in Cleveland commercial steam-jacketed kettles and steam boiler equipment. Sacrificial anodes protect the metal surfaces of the steam jacket, boiler vessel, and internal components from electrochemical corrosion by preferentially corroding in place of the base metal, providing effective cathodic protection for the service life of the component.
Sacrificial anodes are consumed over time by the corrosion process they are designed to prevent, and must be inspected and replaced before they are completely depleted. A fully consumed anode leaves the underlying metal surfaces of the steam jacket or boiler vessel unprotected, allowing electrochemical corrosion to attack the vessel walls, heating elements, and other wetted components. Failure to replace anodes on schedule is one of the leading causes of premature vessel corrosion in commercial steam equipment.
Anode inspection and replacement should be performed at the interval specified in the Cleveland equipment manual, typically annually or at each scheduled preventive maintenance visit. With the steam system fully depressurized, cooled, and drained, remove the old anode from its threaded port and inspect for remaining material. If the anode has been reduced by more than 50% of its original size, replace immediately. Install the new Anode using appropriate thread sealant rated for steam service, restore water fill, and pressure-test before returning the unit to operation.
