    The Avantco 0.046" ID cap tube is an OEM replacement component for select Avantco commercial refrigeration units. This precision capillary tube functions as the metering device that controls refrigerant flow from the condenser into the evaporator coil. The cap tube's specific internal diameter and length are precisely engineered to regulate refrigerant flow rate and maintain proper system performance across varying load and ambient temperature conditions.

    Cap tubes fail through blockage caused by mineral deposits, acid contamination, or debris within the refrigerant circuit, physical damage such as kinking or crushing during service work, or material degradation from prolonged exposure to refrigerant. Symptoms of cap tube failure include inadequate cooling or no cooling, evaporator frosting or sweating, temperature swings, compressor discharge pressure abnormalities, or compressor running continuously. A failed cap tube prevents proper refrigerant metering, causing system inefficiency or complete cooling failure.

    Installation of the Avantco 0.046" ID cap tube must be performed by a qualified refrigeration technician. The technician will recover all refrigerant safely, locate and remove the failed cap tube, clean the connection areas thoroughly, install the new cap tube carefully without bending or kinking, secure the connections through brazing or mechanical fastening, perform a complete system evacuation, and recharge with the correct refrigerant type and quantity.
