Details

The Avantco 0.055" ID cap tube is an OEM replacement component for select Avantco commercial refrigeration equipment. This precision capillary tube serves as the metering restriction in the refrigeration system, controlling the rate at which liquid refrigerant flows from the condenser into the evaporator coil. The cap tube's specific internal diameter and length are engineered to deliver the correct refrigerant flow rate for proper system cooling.

Cap tubes become blocked from mineral buildup, acid contamination, or debris circulating in the refrigerant system, suffer physical damage from kinking or impact during installation, or deteriorate from prolonged exposure to refrigerant and moisture. Failure symptoms include reduced or absent cooling capacity, ice formation on the evaporator, inconsistent cabinet temperatures, high compressor discharge pressures, or continuous compressor operation. A malfunctioning cap tube disrupts refrigerant flow control, resulting in system inefficiency or complete cooling system failure.

Installation of the Avantco 0.055" ID cap tube requires a certified refrigeration technician. The technician will recover all remaining refrigerant, locate and remove the old cap tube, thoroughly clean the connection points, carefully install the new cap tube without bending or kinking, properly braze or secure the connections, perform complete system evacuation to remove air and moisture, and recharge with the manufacturer-specified refrigerant quantity. The replacement cap tube must exactly match the original internal diameter and length specifications. System operation and cooling performance should be verified after installation.
