PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Avantco 177SL312BELT Replacement Belt
Details
The Avantco 177SL312BELT Replacement Belt is an OEM replacement component for Avantco food service equipment that uses belt-driven mechanisms such as slicers, grinders, or food processors. This belt is a rubber or rubber-composite drive belt that transmits rotational power from a motor to the equipment's cutting, mixing, or processing mechanism. The belt must be properly sized and tensioned to reliably transmit power while minimizing slippage.
Drive belts require replacement when they become cracked, frayed, glazed, or hardened from extended use, accumulate grease or food debris that increases slipping, stretch and lose tension, slip during operation, or break completely. A worn or slipping belt causes the driven equipment to operate sluggishly, rotate at incorrect speeds, or fail to operate at all. A broken belt completely prevents equipment operation.
Installation of the 177SL312BELT involves loosening the motor mounting bolts to allow the motor to move and create slack in the old belt. The old belt is removed from the pulleys and a new belt is threaded onto the pulleys in the same configuration. The motor is adjusted to tension the new belt properly according to equipment specifications. Standard hand tools are required. The proper belt tension is critical for smooth operation and longevity; too loose causes slipping, too tight causes premature bearing wear. After installation, the equipment should be tested to verify smooth, quiet operation and proper speed. Periodic belt inspection and tension adjustment extends service life.
