The Avantco 17810048 compressor is an OEM replacement component for select Avantco commercial refrigeration equipment including reach-in coolers, freezers, and undercounter units. This compressor is the heart of the refrigeration system, creating the pressure differential that circulates refrigerant throughout the system to absorb heat from the cabinet interior and reject it to the ambient environment. The compressor enables the entire cooling cycle that maintains food-safe temperatures.
Compressors fail due to refrigerant system contamination with moisture or acid, mechanical wear from extended operation under high loads, loss of lubricating oil leading to bearing wear, internal valve damage from thermal stress, or electrical failures in the motor windings. Symptoms of compressor failure include warm cabinet temperatures, constant running without reaching temperature, loud grinding or knocking noises, compressor cycling on and off on high-pressure relief, or complete inability to start. A non-functional compressor renders the refrigeration system completely inoperative, leading to rapid product spoilage and potential health code violations.
Installation of the Avantco 17810048 compressor must be performed by a licensed refrigeration technician with EPA certification.
