PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Avantco 17812073 Axial Evaporator Fan
Details
The Avantco 17812073 Axial Evaporator Fan is an OEM replacement component for Avantco commercial refrigeration systems, designed to draw cold air from the evaporator coil and distribute it throughout reach-in coolers, freezers, and display cabinets. This fan is critical for maintaining uniform temperature and proper air circulation.
Axial evaporator fans deteriorate from ice and frost accumulation blocking the fan impeller and airflow paths, bearing failure from extended operation, blade damage from vibration, or motor winding failure. Symptoms include reduced air movement, visible frost buildup on the evaporator, warm areas in the cabinet, or complete fan stoppage. A failed fan prevents proper cold air distribution, causing temperature stratification and product quality loss.
Installation by qualified refrigeration technicians with the unit de-energized and system drained ensures safe replacement. Ensure secure mounting to prevent noise and vibration, verify proper electrical connections, and confirm adequate air circulation after startup. Regular maintenance including defrost cycles, removal of ice and frost from fan blades and coil surfaces, and bearing inspection will optimize fan performance and extend service life.
