This evaporator coil serves as the primary heat exchange surface that removes thermal energy from the cabinet interior, allowing the refrigeration system to maintain consistent temperatures necessary for proper food storage and inventory preservation in commercial foodservice operations.
Evaporator coils deteriorate through normal operation due to refrigerant leaks from vibration and pressure cycling, corrosion from moisture and salt exposure common in busy kitchens, mechanical damage from aggressive cleaning procedures, or thermal stress from repeated system cycling.
