The Avantco 17813580 compressor is an OEM replacement component for select Avantco commercial refrigeration equipment including reach-in coolers, undercounter units, and display cases. This compressor is the vital component that powers the refrigeration cycle, drawing in low-pressure refrigerant vapor and compressing it to high pressure to be circulated through the condenser and evaporator coils. Without the compressor, no heat transfer or cooling occurs.
Compressors deteriorate through continuous operation under load, refrigerant circuit contamination from moisture that causes acid formation and internal corrosion, oil starvation that damages bearings and pistons, thermal cycling stress, or winding insulation breakdown in the electric motor. Warning signs include cabinet temperatures rising above set points, compressor running without achieving temperature, abnormal operating sounds, discharge line overheating, or complete failure to operate. A non-functional compressor renders the entire refrigeration system inoperable, resulting in total loss of cooling and rapid product spoilage.
Installation of the Avantco 17813580 compressor must be performed by a licensed refrigeration technician with EPA certification for handling refrigerants.
