The Avantco 17814631 Replacement Large Door Roller is an OEM replacement component for Avantco reach-in coolers, freezers, and glass door display cases with sliding or rolling glass doors. This large roller wheel provides primary support and guidance for the door along the track, supporting most of the door's weight while enabling smooth sliding motion. The roller must be properly sized and maintain good bearing function to prevent binding, misalignment, or tilting of the glass door.
Large door rollers require replacement when they become flattened, develop flat spots or wear grooves, crack, accumulate debris or corrosion that increases friction, or wear down from the repeated cycling stress of heavy glass doors. A worn large roller causes the door to slide unevenly or hesitantly, creates excessive friction that makes opening difficult, causes binding at certain track positions, or results in the door tilting. A severely damaged roller can cause the door to become stuck or jump off the track.
Installation of the 17814631 requires accessing the large roller assembly on the glass door frame. The old roller wheel is removed from its axle or mounting bracket, and the new roller installed using the same fastening points. Standard hand tools are required. If the axle, bearing, or bracket was also damaged during the roller's wear, those components may require replacement as well. After installation, verify the new roller spins freely and test door sliding to ensure smooth, even motion through the full range.
