This evaporator coil functions as the critical heat exchange component that absorbs thermal energy from the refrigerated cabinet space, enabling the refrigeration system to achieve and maintain the low temperatures required for safe food storage and product preservation in commercial foodservice operations.
Evaporator coil failure occurs through refrigerant leakage from system vibration and pressure cycling, corrosion from salt and humidity exposure in busy kitchens, ice blockages that restrict refrigerant flow, or manufacturing defects in the coil material or connections.
