PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Avantco 17815104 Thermal Fuse
Details
The Avantco 17815104 Thermal Fuse is an OEM electrical safety component for Avantco commercial refrigeration equipment designed to protect circuits from excessive temperature conditions. This temperature-sensitive fuse automatically breaks electrical continuity if components exceed safe operating temperatures, preventing thermal runaway and equipment damage.
Thermal fuses fail when exposed to sustained overtemperature conditions that exceed their design limits or when internal solder joints crack from thermal cycling stress. A blown thermal fuse completely interrupts power to a circuit, often preventing equipment from operating until the fuse is replaced. However, repeatedly blown fuses indicate underlying thermal or electrical problems that require professional diagnosis and repair.
Installation of the Avantco 17815104 should only be performed after electrical power is completely isolated and locked out. A qualified technician will safely remove the failed thermal fuse from its mounting location, inspect the circuit for damage or shorts that may have caused the thermal event, install the new fuse, and test the circuit before restoring power. If thermal fuses continue to blow after replacement, the technician must investigate the underlying cause—which may include defective heating elements, stuck relays, or temperature sensor failures—rather than simply replacing fuses repeatedly.
