The Avantco 17815582 evaporator drain pan is an OEM replacement component for select Avantco commercial refrigeration units including reach-in coolers, undercounter units, and display cases. This drain pan collects condensate water that forms on the evaporator coil during normal operation, channeling the water through the drain tubing to an external drain or waste system. The drain pan is essential for maintaining sanitary interior conditions and preventing water damage to the refrigeration system.
Evaporator drain pans fail due to corrosion from prolonged exposure to condensate and minerals, cracks or holes that allow water to leak into the cabinet interior, disconnection from vibration and equipment movement, or blockage from mineral deposits or debris. Symptoms of pan failure include water accumulating inside the refrigerated cabinet, visible corrosion or rust on the pan, mold or mildew growth, or water leaking from the unit. A non-functional drain pan allows condensate to pool inside the cabinet, creating unsanitary conditions and potential damage to stored products and the refrigeration system itself.
Installation of the Avantco 17815582 evaporator drain pan must be performed by a qualified refrigeration technician. The technician will disconnect the drain tubing from the old pan, remove the old pan from its mounting location, clean the mounting area, install the new pan securely, and reconnect the drain tubing.
