Details

The Avantco 17816369 evaporator drain fitting is an OEM replacement component for select Avantco commercial refrigeration units. This fitting serves as the connection point between the evaporator drain pan and the drain tubing, directing condensate water away from the refrigerated cabinet interior. Proper functioning of the drain fitting is critical for preventing water accumulation and maintaining sanitary conditions in the equipment.

Evaporator drain fittings fail due to corrosion from exposure to mineral-rich condensate water, cracks or leaks at the connection points, loosening or disconnection from vibration and equipment movement, or blockage from mineral deposits and debris. Symptoms of fitting failure include water leaking at the connection point, interior water pooling, water visible around the exterior drain area, or slow drainage. A compromised drain fitting allows condensate to accumulate inside the cabinet, creating unsanitary conditions, promoting mold and mildew growth, and potentially damaging stored products.

Installation of the Avantco 17816369 evaporator drain fitting should be performed by a qualified refrigeration technician. The technician will shut down the unit, locate the old fitting connection, disconnect the drain tubing, remove the old fitting, clean the connection area, install the new fitting with proper sealing or threading, and reconnect the drain tubing with secure fastening. The technician should test the system by introducing water to verify proper flow and check for leaks. Regular maintenance includes inspecting the fitting monthly for corrosion or leaks, ensuring the drainage connection remains tight, and flushing the drain line to prevent mineral buildup.
