The Avantco 17831047 compressor is an OEM replacement component for select Avantco commercial cooling equipment including reach-in coolers, freezers, and refrigerated display cases. This compressor is the primary mechanical component that drives the refrigeration cycle, compressing low-pressure refrigerant gas and pumping it through the system to enable heat transfer from the cabinet to the ambient environment. The compressor is essential for achieving and maintaining proper refrigeration temperatures.
Compressor failure results from extended high-load operation causing mechanical wear, contamination of the refrigerant system with moisture or acid that damages internal components, loss of oil lubrication from refrigerant leaks, thermal stress from repeated cycling, or electrical winding failures. Failure symptoms include inadequate cooling or no cooling, running continuously without temperature satisfaction, abnormal noises, high discharge pressures, or complete motor failure.
