Details

The Avantco 178GSKT18883 is a vinyl magnetic door gasket manufactured as an OEM replacement for Avantco commercial refrigeration equipment. This gasket seals the space between the door and cabinet frame in coolers, freezers, and display cases, preventing air leakage and maintaining the consistent temperatures essential for food safety and energy efficiency.

Vinyl magnetic gaskets deteriorate from repeated door opening and closing, temperature fluctuations, and exposure to moisture and cleaning products. A failing gasket loses its compressive force and no longer seals properly, allowing warm air to enter and cold air to escape the cabinet. This creates temperature instability, increases compressor workload, elevates operating costs, and risks food safety issues from inadequate refrigeration.

The 178GSKT18883 installs as a simple direct replacement without requiring special tools or expertise. Carefully remove the old gasket from the door frame channel and firmly press the new vinyl magnetic gasket into place until fully seated. Maintain the gasket by cleaning it regularly with warm soapy water, ensuring the door closes evenly and completely, and inspecting periodically for cracks, separation, or material hardening that signals replacement is needed.
