The Avantco 178HINGE005 Bottom Left Hinge is an OEM replacement component for Avantco reach-in coolers and freezers with left-hinged swing doors. This is a complete hinge assembly positioned at the bottom left of the door frame that serves as a load-bearing pivot point for door operation. The hinge includes the hinge pin, bushing, and mounting bracket as an integrated unit, providing structural support for the bottom corner of the left-hinged door while enabling smooth rotation.
Complete hinge assemblies require replacement when they become bent, develop play or looseness, corrode, show binding or resistance during operation, or display signs of accelerated wear from load stress. A damaged bottom left hinge causes the door to hang unevenly, sag, become difficult to operate, or fail to latch and seal properly. When a load-bearing hinge fails, the door may not close completely, allowing significant temperature loss from the refrigeration cabinet.
The 178HINGE005 is installed as a direct replacement hinge assembly by unbolting the old hinge from the cabinet frame and securing the new hinge using existing fastening points. The unit must be powered down before hinge installation. Standard hand tools are required.
