The Avantco Ice 19494522 pump assembly is an OEM replacement component for select Avantco commercial ice machines. This pump circulates water from the reservoir across the freezing surface, enabling continuous water flow needed for ice crystal formation during the freeze cycle. The pump is essential for ice machine operation and ice production capacity.
Pump assemblies deteriorate from mineral scale buildup reducing water flow and pump efficiency, cavitation or seal failure from extended operation under load, water contamination or debris entering the pump housing, or motor bearing wear from thermal cycling. Symptoms of pump failure include reduced or absent water flow across the freeze surface, ice not forming or forming slowly, squealing or grinding noises from the pump, or complete pump shutdown. A non-functional pump stops water circulation, preventing ice formation and stopping ice machine operation.
Installation of the Avantco Ice 19494522 pump assembly must be performed by a qualified ice machine service technician. The technician will shut off water and electrical power, disconnect the old pump from water inlet and outlet connections, disconnect electrical connections, remove the pump, install the new pump in proper orientation, reconnect water supply and return lines with appropriate fittings and thread sealant, restore electrical connections, and test pump operation.
