Details

The Avantco Ice 19495950 inlet valve is an OEM replacement component for select Avantco commercial ice machines. This inlet valve controls the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator or freezing section of the ice machine, regulating ice production based on system demand and temperature conditions. Proper inlet valve function is essential for consistent ice machine operation and ice production rates.

Inlet valves fail due to contamination from debris or acid in the refrigerant system causing sticking or jamming, mechanical wear of the valve mechanism from repeated cycling, corrosion from moisture exposure, or electrical solenoid failures in solenoid-operated valves. Symptoms of valve failure include reduced ice production, inconsistent ice cube quality or size, water not freezing properly, or complete loss of ice production. A malfunctioning inlet valve disrupts refrigerant flow control, preventing proper ice formation and ice machine operation.

Installation of the Avantco Ice 19495950 inlet valve must be performed by a certified refrigeration technician. The technician will recover all refrigerant, locate and disconnect the old valve, remove it from the system, install the new valve in the correct orientation, reconnect refrigerant lines with proper brazing or mechanical fastening, perform system evacuation, and recharge with the manufacturer-specified refrigerant. The technician should verify proper valve operation and ice production after installation. The valve should be inspected annually and cleaned if necessary to ensure continued reliable operation.
