PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Avantco 44712190554 Drain Tray Heater
Details
The Avantco 44712190554 Drain Tray Heater is an OEM electrical heating component for Avantco commercial refrigeration equipment designed to prevent ice formation in drain collection trays beneath the refrigerated cabinet. This heater maintains the drain pan at temperatures sufficient to keep condensation water fluid and flowing toward the drain outlet.
Drain tray heaters degrade through normal electrical operation as heating elements oxidize and insulation material becomes brittle. A failed heater allows water to freeze in the drain pan, creating ice blockages that prevent proper drainage and allow water to accumulate inside the refrigerated space. This standing water promotes bacterial growth, mold development, and creates unsanitary conditions that violate food safety standards and create health hazards in commercial kitchens.
Installation should be completed by a licensed refrigeration technician who will access the drain pan assembly, disconnect electrical power, and carefully position the new heater element. The technician will secure all electrical connections, test heater operation with power restored, and verify water flows freely toward the drain outlet. Preventive maintenance includes weekly visual inspection of the drain pan for water accumulation, monthly testing of heater function, and quarterly cleaning of drain openings to maintain unrestricted water flow.
