PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Avantco Ice 19491931 Defrost Valve Body and Coil
Details
The Avantco Ice 19491931 Defrost Valve Body and Coil is an OEM component for Avantco commercial refrigeration equipment that controls hot gas flow to the evaporator coil during defrost cycles. This assembly includes both the valve body that directs refrigerant flow and the associated coil that responds to defrost timer signals, enabling controlled frost removal from cooling surfaces.
Defrost valve bodies and coils fail when internal passages become clogged with refrigerant oil deposits, internal seals degrade, or the coil solenoid windings lose electrical continuity. A failed defrost valve prevents hot refrigerant gas from reaching the evaporator coil during defrost, allowing frost to accumulate continuously. This results in reduced cooling capacity, compressor overheating, and eventual complete system failure as heat exchange becomes impossible.
Installation of the Avantco Ice 19491931 requires a certified refrigeration technician experienced with sealed refrigeration systems and capable of safely recovering refrigerant before opening the system. The technician will remove fasteners, carefully disconnect refrigerant and electrical connections, install the new valve assembly with proper orientation, and rebuild system pressure before testing defrost operation. Post-installation maintenance involves monitoring defrost cycle function, verifying coil electrical continuity, and checking for refrigerant leaks around connection points.
