This compressor functions as the core mechanical component that drives the refrigeration cycle within ice machines, compressing refrigerant gas and circulating it through the system to enable water freezing and ice production. The compressor is vital for all ice machine operation.
Compressors in ice machines deteriorate from continuous operation under load, refrigerant system contamination with moisture causing acid formation and internal damage, oil starvation from refrigerant leaks, mechanical wear of pistons and bearings, or electrical winding insulation breakdown.
