The Avantco Ice 19496941 microchannel condenser is an OEM replacement component for select Avantco commercial ice machines. This advanced condenser design features multiple small internal channels that maximize surface area and heat transfer efficiency, enabling the ice machine to reject heat more effectively and operate at lower discharge pressures. The microchannel condenser improves overall ice machine efficiency and performance.
Microchannel condensers fail due to blockage from contamination in the refrigerant circuit that restricts flow through the small channels, refrigerant leaks from the microchannel structure or connections, scale or mineral buildup reducing heat transfer, or corrosion from acid in the system. Symptoms of failure include high discharge pressures, compressor overheating, reduced ice production rate, or complete loss of cooling. A compromised condenser prevents effective heat rejection, causing the compressor to work harder and potentially overheat or fail.
Installation of the Avantco Ice 19496941 microchannel condenser must be performed by a certified refrigeration technician. The technician will recover all refrigerant, carefully disconnect the old condenser from refrigerant lines without allowing contamination, install the new condenser with proper orientation and connections, braze or mechanically fasten all connections securely, perform complete system evacuation, and recharge with the manufacturer-specified refrigerant. System pressures and ice production should be verified after installation. The condenser fins should be cleaned quarterly to maintain heat transfer efficiency.
