The Pitco Ball Valve 1" is a direct replacement manual shutoff ball valve for Pitco commercial fryers and filter systems. It provides a positive, quarter-turn shutoff of the oil or gas supply line in a 1-inch pipe configuration, used for isolation during service, cleaning, or filter operations. Using the correct ball valve ensures the proper body material, seal compatibility with cooking oil or gas, and 1-inch connection dimensions for a correct, leak-free installation.
Over time, ball valve seats and seals can harden and crack from exposure to hot cooking oil, cleaning solvents, or gas, causing the valve to leak past the ball in the closed position or to become difficult to operate due to seat swelling or galling of the ball surface. A leaking or stuck ball valve creates a safety and operational hazard in a commercial kitchen.
