The Basket,Fry (Part# P9183) is a Southbend-compatible replacement fry basket for use in Southbend commercial fryers and cooking equipment. Fry baskets hold product in the fryer's hot oil and allow the operator to lower, agitate, and lift product from the fry vat.
Baskets are constructed of wire mesh or perforated metal designed to allow oil to drain freely while containing product, and handle assemblies allow the operator to safely lower and retrieve the basket from hot oil without direct contact. Coated handles and durable mesh construction are engineered specifically to withstand sustained exposure to high-temperature frying oil.
A worn fry basket typically presents as broken or separated mesh welds that allow product to fall into the oil, a handle coating that has cracked or worn away exposing bare metal, or a basket that no longer hangs level on the fryer's basket hangers. Any of these conditions affects both product quality and safe handling of hot oil.
Replacement is a simple task. With the fryer's oil at a safe handling temperature, remove the worn basket from the fry vat and hanger, and install the replacement, confirming the handle and coating are intact and the basket hangs level and secure on the fryer's basket rest before returning it to service.
