Details
The Pitco Basket Support is a direct replacement basket support rack for Pitco commercial deep fryers, providing the structural shelf on which fry baskets rest while food is immersed in the oil. It positions the basket at the correct depth within the vat to ensure full submersion of product while preventing the basket from contacting the heating tubes or elements at the bottom of the pot. Using the correct basket support maintains the designed immersion depth that Pitco engineered into the fryer for consistent cooking results.
Over time, basket supports can warp, corrode, or break from constant heat exposure, the weight of loaded fry baskets, and the mechanical stress of baskets being dropped into position repeatedly during busy service periods. A damaged basket support can cause baskets to sit at an incorrect angle, resulting in uneven frying, product floating out of the basket, or contact with heating elements that can cause scorching. Replacing the support with the Pitco-compatible part restores correct basket positioning and vat geometry.
Installation requires basic hand tools to remove the old support and seat the replacement correctly inside the fry vat. It is recommended to inspect the basket support during each scheduled deep cleaning or boil-out for signs of warping, cracking, or corrosion. Pairing basket support replacement with a complete vat cleaning and inspection of the basket hanger system will ensure the entire basket assembly functions as designed and supports safe, efficient frying operations.
