The Baxter 01-1M2824-00001 is the OEM air pressure switch for Baxter commercial rack ovens. The air pressure switch functions as a safety interlock in the burner control circuit, sensing whether the combustion air blower or convection fan is producing adequate airflow before the gas valve is permitted to open. On each call for heat, the control system checks the air pressure switch to confirm airflow is present; if the switch does not close — indicating the fan is not running or airflow is insufficient — the gas valve remains closed and the burner will not light. This prevents raw gas from accumulating in the oven and protects the equipment and the people operating it.
Common symptoms of a failing air pressure switch include the oven failing to light on startup despite the igniter sparking, error codes related to the combustion air circuit, or the burner lighting intermittently and then locking out.
