Details
The Blodgett 39443 Mk111 Contactor Upgrade Kit is a OEM factory-original electrical contactor for use in Blodgett commercial convection ovens, deck ovens, and combination cooking equipment. The contactor is an electromechanical switching device that connects and disconnects high-current electrical loads — such as heating elements — under the command of low-voltage control signals from the oven's thermostat or control board.
In commercial Blodgett electric ovens, contactors carry the full amperage load of the heating elements and cycle on and off continuously throughout the equipment's operational life. The electrical arcing that occurs at the contact points during switching causes gradual contact erosion, which is the primary mechanism of contactor wear.
A failing or failed contactor may cause one or more heating elements to stop operating, resulting in reduced oven temperatures or uneven heat distribution. In some cases, a worn contactor may weld closed, causing elements to remain energized even when the thermostat signals for heat off, creating a potentially unsafe condition.
Contactor replacement should be performed by a qualified electrician or appliance technician with the unit fully de-energized and locked out. Identify the failing contactor by its coil voltage and pole configuration, disconnect the line and load wiring, remove the contactor from its mounting, install the replacement, and reconnect all wiring before restoring power and testing under load.
This OEM factory-original contactor is rated to the voltage and amperage specifications of Blodgett electric ovens, providing reliable high-current switching performance and a direct replacement for the original component.
