The Blodgett 58195 Kit,Solid State Dig Rtd Control is a OEM factory-original temperature sensor or probe for use in Blodgett commercial convection ovens, deck ovens, and combination cooking equipment. Temperature sensors and RTD probes provide the precise, continuous temperature measurement input required by Blodgett electronic control systems to accurately maintain cooking temperatures, execute programmed cook cycles, and protect equipment from overtemperature conditions.
RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) probes and thermistor sensors used in Blodgett ovens provide highly accurate and consistent temperature readings across the cooking temperature range. The control board uses this input to calculate heating element cycling and maintain the operator-set temperature within tight tolerances critical to food quality.
A failing temperature sensor will cause inaccurate temperature readings that result in the oven running hotter or cooler than the displayed setpoint. Symptoms include food consistently over- or under-cooking despite normal dial settings, error codes on the digital display related to temperature sensor faults, or completely erratic temperature control behavior.
Sensor and probe replacement should be performed by a qualified technician. De-energize the oven and allow it to cool. Locate the sensor probe within the oven cavity or control section, disconnect the wiring leads, and remove the sensor from its mounting bracket or insertion port. Install the replacement sensor in the correct location, secure it properly, reconnect the leads, and verify accurate temperature readings at a known reference temperature.
