Details

The Buckeye 5 lb Purple K fire extinguisher with hose and vehicle bracket provides potassium bicarbonate dry chemical suppression for Class B (flammable liquids) and Class C (energized electrical) fires in a mobile, vehicle-ready configuration. Potassium bicarbonate is the preferred agent for flammable liquid fire suppression in demanding industrial and military environments, and the 5 lb charge provides substantial capacity for vehicle-mounted deployment on service trucks, tankers, and industrial equipment.

This hose-equipped model achieves a UL Rating of 20-B:C — double the rating of the equivalent fixed-nozzle 5 lb model — because the hose enables more precise, effective agent delivery, maximizing suppression efficiency. It discharges for 9–12 seconds at an effective range of 9–15 feet and operates at 195 psi. The all-metal double-strap vehicle bracket provides secure mounting in high-vibration environments, while the heavy-duty drawn steel cylinder with polyester epoxy powder coat and anodized metal surfaces ensures corrosion resistance under harsh field conditions. Barcoded labels simplify inspection tracking. DOT and USCG approved, with an operating temperature range of −65°F to 120°F.

The hose attachment is the critical differentiator between this model and the fixed-nozzle vehicle bracket variant: it provides the operator with greater reach, directional control, and the ability to apply agent from a safer standoff distance — all of which contribute to the superior 20-B:C UL rating. For organizations that demand maximum suppressant effectiveness in vehicle-mounted fire protection, this hose model is the clear performance choice. Buckeye's proven Purple K formulation and rugged DOT/USCG-compliant construction make it a dependable front-line asset for any mobile fleet.

It’s a beefy extinguisher.A challenge to mounting in a truck bed.Happy it fits and hopefully I will not have to use it. Great product for the money.
