PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Circuit Breaker for Pitco Part# PP10460

Details
The Pitco Circuit Breaker is a direct replacement resettable overcurrent protection device for Pitco commercial electric fryers. It protects the fryer's electrical circuits from overloads and short circuits by tripping to the open position when current exceeds the rated limit, and it can be manually reset once the fault condition is cleared. Using the correct circuit breaker ensures the proper amperage rating, trip curve, and mounting configuration for the specific fryer model.
Over time, circuit breakers can experience nuisance tripping from accumulated thermal stress, or they may fail to trip when they should as the bimetallic tripping mechanism ages and loses calibration. In a commercial fryer, a circuit breaker that will not reset or trips unnecessarily takes the fryer offline and interrupts food service. Replacing the circuit breaker with a compatible part restores properly calibrated overcurrent protection and eliminates trips caused by a worn or fatigued breaker mechanism.
Replacement involves disconnecting power, removing the old breaker from its mounting, and installing and wiring the new one to the same terminals. It is recommended to identify and correct any underlying overcurrent cause before installing the new breaker to prevent repeat tripping. Pairing circuit breaker replacement with an inspection of the connected heating elements or motor loads for signs of overload or insulation failure will help ensure the fryer's electrical system operates within design parameters.
