PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Contactor 2P 30/40A 208/240V for Jackson Part# 5945-109-03-69

Details
The contactor (Jackson Part# 5945-109-03-69) is a 2-pole, 30/40 Amp electrical switch designed for Jackson commercial dishwashing equipment at 208/240V. This replacement controls medium-voltage electrical loads including solenoid valves, control circuits, and auxiliary equipment. The contactor responds to signals from the equipment's control system and manages power delivery during wash cycle sequences.
Contactors fail when electrical arcing creates pitting and surface erosion on contacts, preventing reliable electrical connection and causing intermittent power delivery to connected components. Contact degradation accumulates over time, resulting in sporadic operation and unpredictable equipment behavior. Severe arcing can weld contacts together, preventing disconnection, or burn contacts open, creating permanent disconnection. Symptoms include loads activating sporadically, control functions operating inconsistently, or equipment not responding to cycle commands.
A qualified technician with electrical training should perform the replacement due to electrical hazards and the need to properly isolate circuits before work. All power must be confirmed off using a multimeter before disconnecting the old contactor. After installation, test all contactor-controlled loads to verify reliable operation throughout multiple complete wash cycles. Establish a preventive maintenance program that includes regular visual inspection for arcing damage, contact surface erosion, discoloration, or unusual heating, and replace contactors proactively if degradation is detected.
