PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Contactor 3P 25/35A 208/240V for Pitco Part# PTP5045358

Details
The Pitco Contactor 3P 25/35A 208/240V is a direct replacement three-pole contactor for Pitco commercial electric fryers operating on 208V or 240V supply circuits. Controlled by a 208/240V coil, it switches 25–35 amperes of three-phase or split-phase current to the fryer's heating elements under command of the temperature control system. Using the correct part ensures coil voltage compatibility with the power supply and correct contact rating for the installed heating element load.
Over time, the high-current switching duty of a commercial fryer causes contact erosion, pitting, and eventual welding or open-circuit failure, while the coil can develop intermittent continuity from vibration-induced wire fatigue. These failures prevent the elements from cycling correctly, resulting in temperature overshoot, undershoot, or a complete failure to heat. Replacing the contactor with a compatible 208/240V unit restores proper, reliable element switching at the correct voltage.
Replacement requires disconnecting all power and labeling the load and control wiring before removing the old contactor from its mounting and installing the new one. It is recommended to check three-phase supply voltage at the contactor line terminals before energizing to confirm proper incoming voltage. Pairing contactor replacement with a megohm test of the heating elements will ensure the load side of the circuit is healthy before subjecting the new contactor to full operating current.
