The Contactor 3P 30/40A 120V for Blodgett Part# BL5510 is a compatible aftermarket replacement electrical contactor for use in Blodgett commercial convection ovens, deck ovens, and combination cooking equipment. The contactor is an electromechanical switching device that connects and disconnects high-current electrical loads — such as heating elements — under the command of low-voltage control signals from the oven's thermostat or control board.
In commercial Blodgett electric ovens, contactors carry the full amperage load of the heating elements and cycle on and off continuously throughout the equipment's operational life. The electrical arcing that occurs at the contact points during switching causes gradual contact erosion, which is the primary mechanism of contactor wear.
A failing or failed contactor may cause one or more heating elements to stop operating, resulting in reduced oven temperatures or uneven heat distribution.
