The Contactor 3P 30/40A 208/240V (Part# KE603902-3) is a Cleveland-compatible replacement contactor for use in Cleveland commercial cooking and steamer equipment. Contactors are high-current switching devices that open and close the main power circuit to heating elements, motors, and other high-draw loads under the direction of the equipment control system, rated to the correct pole count, current capacity, and coil voltage for reliable, long-service switching performance.
Contactors are subject to electrical and mechanical wear from the repeated make-and-break switching operations that occur during normal equipment operation. Contact surfaces erode over time from the arcing that occurs during switching, and the coil can fail due to overheating or voltage irregularities. Symptoms of a failing contactor include a buzzing or chattering noise from the control panel, intermittent loss of heat or motor function, or contact pitting visible during inspection.
Contactor replacement should be performed by a qualified service technician with the equipment fully de-energized and locked out at the main disconnect. Note all wiring connections and terminal designations before removing the old contactor from the DIN rail or panel mounting. Install the new Contactor 3P 30/40A 208/240V, reconnect all wiring to the correct terminals, and test the contactor by cycling the controlled function through several complete on-off sequences to confirm smooth, quiet engagement before returning the unit to service.
