PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Contactor 4P 30/40A 208/240V for Jackson Part# 05945-004-43-74

Details
The contactor (Jackson Part# 05945-004-43-74) is a 4-pole, 30/40 Amp electrical switch rated for 208/240V operation. This replacement is designed for Jackson commercial dishwashing equipment and controls high-amperage electrical loads such as motors and heating elements. The contactor responds to control signals from the equipment's timer or control board, safely switching power to major components on and off during wash cycles.
Contactors degrade when arcing and electrical pitting damage the contact surfaces, preventing reliable electrical connection between the contacts. Over time, contact surface erosion causes intermittent power delivery, with components starting and stopping unpredictably during cycles. In severe cases, arcing generates sufficient heat to weld contacts together, causing permanent electrical connection or burning contacts open permanently. Symptoms include erratic component operation, equipment not responding to cycle commands, or major loads failing to activate.
A licensed technician should perform contactor replacement due to electrical safety hazards and shock risk from residual voltage. Verify that all electrical power is isolated before beginning work, and use a multimeter to confirm absence of voltage on all terminals. After installation, test each contactor-controlled component to verify reliable activation and deactivation throughout the wash cycle. Regularly inspect contactors during maintenance visits for arcing, pitting, or discoloration, and replace them if contact surfaces show degradation.
