The ice thickness control on Manitowoc cube ice machines sets the position of the ice thickness probe relative to the evaporator surface, determining how thick the ice must grow before the probe triggers the harvest cycle. Adjusting the control moves the probe closer to or farther from the evaporator face, directly changing the cube thickness setting and affecting the weight, clarity, and daily production count per cycle.
A worn, corroded, or mechanically damaged ice thickness control that prevents the probe from being correctly positioned results in inconsistent cube thickness, erratic harvest timing, or loss of ice quality control.
