The Pitco Conversion Kit To LP is a direct replacement kit for converting Pitco commercial gas fryers from natural gas to liquefied petroleum (LP) gas service. The kit contains the LP-rated orifices for the main burner and pilot, the LP pressure regulator or regulator spring, and all necessary installation hardware and instructions. Using the correct LP conversion kit ensures all parts are sized and rated for safe LP gas operation at the correct manifold pressure.
Natural gas fryers are designed for operation at lower gas pressures with larger orifice diameters than LP gas systems require. Operating an unconverted or incorrectly converted fryer on LP gas results in excessive gas flow, overheating, sooting, flame rollout, and potentially dangerous operation. The Pitco-compatible Conversion Kit To LP provides every component needed to safely adapt the burner system for LP fuel without improvising or mixing components from different sources.
Conversion must be carried out by a certified gas appliance technician who verifies manifold pressure with a manometer and inspects flame color and character after the conversion is complete. It is recommended to replace the rating plate label and document the conversion date in the service record. Pairing LP conversion kit installation with a full safety system test — including hi-limit and thermocouple or thermopile verification — will confirm the fryer is operating safely on its new fuel.
