The Convotherm Adjusting Switch Assembly for (Part# 5009320) is a genuine OEM replacement switch for Convotherm combi ovens and steamers. This switch opens or closes an electrical circuit within Convotherm combi ovens and steamers, either under operator control or in response to a mechanical condition such as a door position or safety interlock, allowing the unit to start, stop, or protect itself as intended.
Switches are actuated repeatedly through the course of daily use, and the internal contacts wear down or pit with each cycle while the housing is exposed to grease, moisture, and cleaning chemicals common in a commercial kitchen. A worn switch typically fails to register actuation, sticks in one position, or causes intermittent operation that can be difficult to diagnose until the switch itself is replaced.
A technician should lock out power to the unit, access the switch, and disconnect its wiring while noting terminal placement. Remove the old switch, mount the new one in the same location, and reconnect wiring per the original layout. Restore power and confirm the switch performs its function correctly before closing out the job.
