Details
The Door, Sliding, Plastic (Part# PB502237) is a Follett-compatible replacement sliding inspection door for use in Follett commercial ice dispensing equipment. This component serves as the access panel on the ice dispenser unit, allowing operators to inspect the ice supply while maintaining containment. Sold as a pack of two, the blowmolded plastic doors measure 21.5 inches wide and are designed to fit the SDU series of Follett ice dispensers.
Plastic inspection doors on commercial ice dispensers are subject to continuous opening and closing during service, leading to cracks, brittleness, and distorted sliding tracks over time. Chlorine exposure from ice and cleaning chemicals further degrades the plastic material, causing discoloration and stress fractures. A damaged or missing inspection door compromises ice containment and sanitation compliance, and allows condensation and ambient air into the bin, accelerating ice melt and reducing storage efficiency.
Replacing these doors does not require a licensed technician. Before replacement, de-energize the ice dispenser and remove any remaining ice from the bin. Slide the damaged doors out of the track by angling them from the channel — no fasteners are typically required. Insert the replacement doors into the top track first, then guide them into the bottom channel. Verify the doors slide smoothly across the full travel range and that no gaps exist in the closed position that could allow insects or debris to enter the bin.
