Details

The Dormont 1650KIT72 is a complete deluxe gas connector kit for commercial kitchen equipment with 1/2" gas supply connections. The kit centers on Dormont's Blue Hose® — a corrugated 304 stainless steel tube wrapped in tight-weave stainless steel braid and finished with an antimicrobial PVC coating that slows the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew on the connector surface. At 72" of total installed length, this kit is designed for installations where the gas stub is further from the equipment, where the layout requires the hose to route around obstructions, or where extra slack is needed to allow the appliance to roll out fully for deep cleaning and service. The stainless braid construction allows the hose to flex safely with repeated movement, unlike residential-grade connectors that are not rated for use with caster-mounted equipment.

The SnapFast® quick disconnect included in this kit is Dormont's exclusive one-handed design — engineered to connect and disconnect with a single hand, making it practical in the cramped spaces behind commercial cooking equipment. A pull of the operating ring disconnects gas flow instantly for safe maintenance; reconnection is just a push and a click. An internal thermal shutoff provides an additional safety layer by automatically closing gas flow if the fitting temperature reaches 350°F. The kit also includes a full port ball valve, two 1/2" 90° street elbows for routing flexibility, and Stress Guard® rotational end fittings that reduce installation stress and prevent hose kinking.

The restraining cable and all mounting hardware are included — a restraining device is required by most commercial kitchen codes and local AHJ inspectors throughout the United States. The 1650KIT72 is rated for indoor use only and is NSF certified and CSA C/US certified for commercial foodservice applications. Dormont backs the Blue Hose® with a lifetime warranty. For shorter reach requirements, the Dormont 1650KIT48 (48") and 1650KIT36 (36") are the equivalent kits in this diameter, and the 1675KIT72 is the same kit in 3/4" diameter.
