Details

The Doyon 50-1489 is a genuine OEM actuator and lift motor designed around an 800-pound capacity ball screw mechanism, used in Doyon rack oven models that employ an electrically actuated lifting system to raise and lower the rack or hearth deck during loading, unloading, or baking operations. The ball screw actuator converts the motor's rotational output into controlled linear motion with high force capacity and precise positional control.

Ball screw lift actuators are preferred in commercial baking equipment because of their combination of high force capacity, positional accuracy, and mechanical efficiency. The 800 LB capacity of the 50-1489 provides the rated load capability for the full rack and product weight that the lift system is designed to handle. The ball screw mechanism translates motor torque directly into lift force with minimal friction loss, ensuring smooth, controlled raising and lowering throughout the oven's loading and unloading sequence.

Signs of actuator or lift motor failure include the rack or deck not rising or lowering on command, the lift stopping mid-travel, unusual noise from the drive mechanism during lift operation, or the lift moving slower than normal indicating increased friction in the ball screw from contamination or insufficient lubrication. In some cases the motor may energize without producing shaft rotation due to a failed motor winding or a sheared coupling.

Replacement should be performed by a qualified technician. The rack or deck must be in the lowered, safe position before work begins. The actuator electrical connections are disconnected and the mechanical attachment points are released. The new 50-1489 is installed in the correct orientation and the limit switches are adjusted to calibrate the upper and lower travel stops before the system is returned to service.

The genuine Doyon 50-1489 provides the 800-pound rated ball screw actuator specification required by Doyon rack oven lifting systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and precisely controlled rack or deck positioning throughout the equipment's service life.
