The whip is a mixing tool designed for high-aeration applications such as whipped creams, meringues, light batters, and other preparations where incorporating large volumes of air into the mixture is the primary mixing objective. The whip's wire geometry creates maximum air incorporation efficiency compared to the dough hook or flat beater attachments used for denser products.

In the BTF080F mixer, the whip orbits the bowl through the planetary mixing action while simultaneously spinning on its own axis, ensuring the whip wires pass through every section of the bowl's contents on each revolution. This comprehensive coverage pattern allows the whip to fold air into the entire batch uniformly, producing consistent aeration throughout the mixing bowl's 80-quart capacity.
