Details

The Doyon ELM715 is a genuine OEM solid-state timer compatible with ACP or SSAC timing modules, operating at 120 or 240V, designed for Doyon deck ovens and proofing equipment using solid-state timing systems. Unlike electromechanical analog timers, the ELM715 solid-state design has no mechanical contacts or motor-driven cams, providing significantly longer operating life and more reliable timing accuracy in the continuous-use commercial baking environment.

Solid-state timers use electronic timing circuits rather than motor-driven clock mechanisms to measure elapsed time. The ELM715 is energized when the operator initiates a timed bake cycle, counts down the preset period, and activates its output relay at zero to signal the end of the cycle. The absence of mechanical timing components eliminates the calibration drift common in analog timers and reduces maintenance to essentially zero for the timing function itself.

Signs that the solid-state timer has failed include the timer not counting down despite being energized, the end-of-cycle alarm or relay not activating, the timer displaying incorrect remaining time, or the timer not resetting after a cycle completes. Solid-state timer failures are often caused by voltage spikes or power surges that damage the internal timing circuit rather than wear, which is distinct from the gradual mechanical wear failure mode of analog timers.

Replacement should be performed by a qualified technician. The power to the equipment is disconnected, the failed timer module is removed from its socket or mounting, and the new ELM715 is installed. The timer's setpoint should be verified against the equipment's standard bake time specifications before returning the equipment to production.

The genuine Doyon ELM715 provides the factory-specified solid-state timing function for compatible ACP and SSAC timer system applications at 120V or 240V, ensuring precise, reliable bake cycle timing without the mechanical wear limitations of analog timers.
