The Doyon ELM800ML is a genuine OEM single-phase, 3/4 HP motor with a 6-1/4" extended shaft, operating at 115V or 230V, designed for Doyon deck ovens requiring an extended-shaft motor to reach the fan wheel in deep-cavity installations. The extended 6-1/4" shaft length allows the motor to be mounted outside the oven cavity while the shaft extends through the rear panel to reach the fan wheel positioned deep within the oven interior.

This motor drives the internal circulating fan wheel that distributes heated air throughout the oven cavity. The extended shaft design is critical for ovens where the motor must be mounted externally for heat protection while the fan operates within the high-temperature baking environment. The single-phase, dual-voltage winding allows the motor to be configured for either 115V or 230V single-phase power supplies.

Failure symptoms include loss of internal air circulation (audible as reduced fan noise), motor thermal overload tripping, motor humming without shaft rotation indicating a failed start winding or capacitor, or bearing noise from within the motor. The extended shaft may also show signs of deflection or wear at the rear panel shaft seal if the motor has been running misaligned.

Replacement requires a qualified technician. The dual-voltage wiring configuration must be set correctly for the installation voltage before starting. The fan wheel should be transferred from the old shaft to the new motor during replacement, and the motor must be mounted so the shaft is correctly aligned with the rear panel bearing or seal.
