The Doyon ELM820ML is a genuine OEM three-phase, 3/4 HP motor with a 6-1/4" extended shaft, operating at 230V or 460V, designed for Doyon deck ovens that require a three-phase motor with an extended shaft to reach the fan wheel in deep-cavity oven configurations. This motor combines the efficiency and reliability advantages of three-phase power with the extended shaft geometry needed for installations where the motor mounts outside the high-temperature oven cavity.

The extended shaft design of the ELM820ML allows the motor body to be located in the cooler rear compartment of the oven while the shaft extends through the insulated rear panel into the oven interior to drive the fan wheel. This configuration protects the motor windings and bearings from direct heat exposure, extending motor service life in the demanding deck oven environment. The three-phase, dual-voltage winding provides installation flexibility across 230V and 460V three-phase services.

Failure symptoms include loss of oven air circulation, motor thermal overload tripping, single-phasing (humming with reduced or no torque development due to a failed phase connection), or bearing noise from the extended shaft. The shaft seal or rear panel bearing should also be inspected when the motor is replaced, as extended shaft wear or misalignment can damage these components.

Replacement requires a qualified electrician or technician. The three-phase voltage configuration must be verified and set correctly for the installation supply voltage before energizing. Phase rotation should be confirmed to ensure correct fan wheel rotation direction.
