Details
The temperature control monitors the oven or proofer cavity temperature through a connected sensor and cycles the heating circuit to maintain the operator-set temperature. The overlay provides the operator with the setpoint markings, scale graduations, and operating labels needed to set and read the temperature correctly. Replacing the control and overlay together ensures the replacement control's display and markings are correctly matched and legible from the moment of installation.
Failure signs include the display showing incorrect or frozen temperature readings, the oven failing to reach or hold the setpoint temperature, the controller not responding to setpoint adjustment, error codes appearing on the display, or physical damage to the control face including illegible overlay markings that compromise safe and accurate operation.
Replacement should be performed by a qualified technician. The power to the oven is disconnected, the control panel is accessed, and the control assembly is removed by releasing its mounting screws. Wiring connections are transferred to the new MEC0151, and the assembly is secured in the panel.
