The Pitco Drain Nipple is a direct replacement pipe nipple for the drain assembly on Pitco commercial deep fryers, serving as the rigid pipe section that connects the drain valve to the drain line piping below the fry vat. It provides the structural connection point through which hot cooking oil flows when the drain valve is opened for oil changes, filtering, or vat cleaning. Using the correct drain nipple ensures the proper thread type, pipe diameter, and material grade compatible with the high-temperature cooking oil service that Pitco fryer drain systems require.
Over time, drain nipples can develop thread corrosion, stress cracks from thermal cycling, or physical damage from tools used during oil changes, leading to weeping oil leaks at the drain connection that create a burn hazard and a slip risk on the kitchen floor. A leaking drain nipple can also contaminate the area beneath the fryer and make it difficult to determine whether the drain valve itself is leaking.
