The Follett SafeClean Plus (Part# 1147826) is a genuine liquid ice machine cleaner designed for use with Follett commercial ice makers and ice and water dispensers. This 8 oz. bottle contains a proprietary, citric-acid-based formula that dissolves mineral scale, lime deposits, and biofilm buildup from the internal water-contact surfaces of Follett ice machines. Its concentrated formulation delivers three times the descaling power of standard citric acid cleaners while remaining safe for all internal components — rubber, plastic, and metal — when used according to the included directions.
Regular mineral scale accumulation is one of the leading causes of reduced ice production, increased energy consumption, and premature component failure in commercial ice machines. Hard water deposits build up over time on evaporator plates, water distribution systems, and reservoir surfaces, restricting water flow and insulating the evaporator from proper heat exchange. Left unaddressed, this scale also creates a harboring environment for bacteria and biofilm, which can compromise ice quality and put operations at risk of health code violations.
